Margaret chairs our Board of Directors, and as a member of our Leadership Team, contributes as a co-ordinator, sounding board, mentor and industry expert, to help set and achieve our company goals.

Margaret Mearns has over 40 years of experience in financial services, founded Mearns & Company in 1994, and has grown the company from an original team of three. She is passionate about both client care and encouraging professional learning and development.

Margaret is an Associate of the Institute of Financial Planning which requires a commitment to an exacting code of Ethics and Professional Practice, and also a member of the Society of Estate Practitioners, holding the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ Diploma (Scotland). She is also an Associate of the Personal Finance Society.

Margaret loves to spend time with her family and especially delights in the company of her grandchildren. She is always happy in the company of her friends, too, sharing interests such as walking, dancing, music and stimulating conversation.
