Lunch & Learn – Financial Wellness

Post by Mearns & Company in News

On Wednesday 28th March, Mearns & Company hosted its first Lunch and Learn event at our office in Leith, presented by Malcolm Steel, Chartered Financial Planner.

The focus of this event was Financial Wellness. The aim of this event was to enlighten attendees on how to achieve peace of mind and reduce the burden of financial stress.

The presentation contained an in depth analysis of how to become financially ‘well’, and highlighted the following steps to financial wellness;

  • Have an emergency fund.
  • Protect yourself and your family.
  • Deal with debt.
  • Save and invest well.
  • Keep everything in good order.
  • Have a plan, review it regularly, and take advice.

Malcolm also covered how we feel about money, and why this is so important in shaping our financial futures.

The catering was brilliantly handled by Barry Bryson, of Cater Edinburgh (pictured below).

Our guests took away some valuable insights. This was complimented by all round positive feedback, meaning the event will certainly go down as a great success.

Looking into the future, we are hosting another Lunch and Learn event on Wednesday 30th May 2018, which will focus on ‘How to retire well’.

We look forward to welcoming more guests to our office in what promises to be another engaging and informative session. Check back on Eventbrite in the near future for further information, and to sign up for this event.
