Gold Standard Awards 2018

Post by Mearns & Company in News

Mearns & Company has been awarded Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice for the ninth year. The award was collected by Catherine Bell, Managing Director and Margaret Mearns, Chairman, on the 14th November 2018 at the House of Commons, London.

The Gold Standard Awards are open to UK-based financial services groups or specialist financial companies offering their own products and services. The award is held in the highest esteem within financial services; it is very difficult to achieve, as evidenced by the fact that only eight financial advisory businesses in the U.K. met the standard in 2018. Judging on financial strength, capability, service, fair value and trust, the award aligns well with our company’s ethos and values.

We are enormously proud of this external validation of our dedication to excellence, which we strive to achieve every day. Delivery of a high quality service is a standard that both we and the Gold Standard Awards strive to uphold. The Gold Standard Awards expect an excellent level of service from those who apply for the award. The judges look at a company’s ability to maintain effective relationships with clients; their forms of communication, quality and levels of service on offer. Here, at Mearns & Company, our mission is to do the right thing for our clients, provide an excellent level of service, treat everyone fairly and communicate effectively.

Judges’ comments: Mearns and Company displayed fully embedded TCF (Treating Customer Fairly), Investors in People Gold Standard and good charitable work. They showed clear communication, competitive charging and the due diligence is good.
