Katrina Bruce

Katrina is a qualified Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS).

Since joining Mearns & Company in 2015, Katrina has worked across all of our client teams, giving her a broad and well-rounded understanding of how Mearns & Company supports clients at every stage of their financial journey.

Katrina’s journey to Mearns & Company (in her own words):
“I studied Business and Events Management at university and spent six years working in events management. Although I enjoyed the role, the unsociable hours led me to take time out to travel for a year. When I returned, I was keen to move into a finance-related career with clear progression opportunities, which is when I found Mearns & Company.

I joined the administration team in 2015 before moving into an Account Executive role within the Employee Benefits team. I then returned to the private client team as a Paraplanner and, in 2018, progressed into the Planning Team.”

What drives Katrina:
Katrina enjoys building long-term relationships with clients and helping them achieve their financial goals. She is particularly passionate about giving clients the confidence to enjoy their money, alongside putting strong plans in place for the future.

Career highlights:
In 2021, Katrina was awarded the Insurance Society of Edinburgh’s President’s Quaich, in recognition of her Chartered Insurance Institute exams performance.

Outside of work:
Katrina loves to travel and explore new parts of the world, aiming to visit at least one new country every year.
