How do you charge for financial planning and investment advice?
We aim to make our fees clear, fair, and aligned with the value we provide.
Depending on the service, we would charge a fixed planning fee, an ongoing percentage of assets under advice, or a combination of the two. We will always outline costs in advance and explain exactly what is included before any work begins.
Do you have to have a minimum level of assets to become a client?
There is no fixed minimum, but our services tend to offer the best value for clients with £250,000 or more in investable assets, which can include ISAs and pensions. If you’re not certain whether we’re the right fit, we’re always happy to have an initial conversation.
Where are my assets held and how are they protected?
Your investments are held with reputable, FCA‑regulated third‑party custodians. This provides an additional layer of safety and separation — we make investment recommendations and manage your portfolio, but we never take custody of your money directly.
What should I bring to my first meeting?
Anything you have is helpful but not mandatory. Useful documents include recent pension or investment statements, mortgage details, payslips, and a rough idea of your monthly outgoings. If you don’t have everything to hand, that’s absolutely fine — we can guide you through what’s needed.
How long does the financial planning process take?
Your initial financial planning report is typically produced within around 10 weeks from when we start work on this, however this depends on the complexity of your circumstances, the number of plans that you already hold, and which providers these are with. During the preparation of your report we will provide you with regular updates to keep you informed. Once your financial plan is in place, we review it regularly to keep you on track as life changes.
How often will we meet or review things?
Most clients in our annual financial planning service meet us once a year, but you can always contact us between meetings whenever something important comes up

.
What happens if my circumstances change significantly?

Do you offer remote or hybrid advice?
Yes. We work with clients across Scotland and the wider UK through a blend of in‑person and virtual meetings. We’ll always adapt to what suits you best.
How do I get started as a new client?
